Cat Linh station had a technical problem, so the Cat Linh – Ha Dong tram had to temporarily stop picking up passengers at 4 stations of Cat Linh, La Thanh, Thai Ha and Lang. By 10:40 a.m., the problem at Cat Linh station had been fixed.
Around 10 am on February 11, a train of the Cat Linh – Ha Dong railway line suddenly stopped during the journey. The train was stopped in the area of Thanh Xuan district while moving towards the inner city.
According to the research, when the Cat Linh station had a problem, the train had to stop in the middle of the road, the technical staff had to send a notice to the passengers that the route was moving several minutes later than planned.
“When receiving the notice, many passengers on the train felt bewildered because they did not know what was going on,” said Ms. S., a passenger on the train.
General Director of Metro Hanoi Vu Hong Truong said that due to a problem at Cat Linh station, the train was stopped. According to Truong, the incident is in the response scenario of this unit.
After the incident, Metro Hanoi mobilized buses to take passengers in need from Thuong Dinh station to Cat Linh station.
“The process of operating the train cannot avoid problems, but it is in the script, I hope you understand,” Mr. Truong said.
General Director of Metro Hanoi Vu Hong Truong added that by 10:40 a.m. the problem at Cat Linh station had been fixed. After that, the trains of the Cat Linh – Ha Dong railway line returned to normal operation.
According to Truong, the cause of the train’s stop was an error at Cat Linh station. “As for why the error is, it takes time for technical staff to analyze,” Truong said.
Previously, on May 23, 2022, during operation, a train Cat Linh – Ha Dong also suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. At that time, Mr. Truong said that when it rains, the slippery track will cause the system to automatically stop and park at the wrong station, so he will have to switch to manual driving mode.
Cat Linh – Ha Dong urban railway was started in October 2011. At the end of 2021, this railway line is officially put into commercial operation, following 10 constructions.
