The world of Baum und Pferdgarten has always been characterized by unmistakable colors and attention to detail. It was no different with the Baum und Pferdgarten Autumn Winter 2023 collection at the Nikolaj Kunsthal. The inspiration from the big one Film “The Royal Tenenbaums” by Wes Andersons, was evident in every detail. At the show presented as part of Copenhagen Fashion Week AW23, the catwalk was surrounded by a large tent this year and was therefore particularly impressive.
Collection Inspiration: Movie “The Royal Tenenbaums”
The film’s characters have been reimagined and give an impression of how they would dress if the film were shot today. Fun and lighthearted humor were the driving force behind The Royal Baumgartens collection. The main actress, Margot Tenenbaum, with her characteristic side parting, paired with a bold line of eyeliner and a brown imitation leather jacket by Baum und Pferdgarten. Also, Chas Tenenbaum’s iconic red tracksuit has been reimagined in the form of a blue and white pinstripe set with an embroidered racquet emblem.
The best kind of fashion is fun and cheerful
This year’s collection showed us that the best kind of fashion is fun and cheerful. The two designers presented the film’s characters with all their quirks in a modern guise.
The show highlight of the brand, founded in 1999 by Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave in Copenhagen: brightly colored outfits and colored suits. Whether a magenta puffer jacket or a pink corduroy blazer. The outfits are fun to watch and wear. Additional playful details included headbands and an evening bag in the shape of a tennis ball.
