Late Thursday morning, police in the Seraing/Neupré area discovered a substantial cannabis plantation, since a total of 1,500 plants were stored in a shed located in Seraing.
The numerous plants were stored in a shed which was rented by the suspect. It was the strong smell of cannabis that emanated from the building as well as the incessant coming and going of cars registered in other countries that led to this discovery.
The owner of the shed was interviewed by the police. A priori, it would have nothing to do with these precise facts. In addition, several mobile phones were seized on site and will soon be analyzed.
The suspect, a man born in the late 90s and illegally residing in Belgium, was deprived of his liberty. The man was not known to justice. He was therefore arrested and brought to the Liège public prosecutor’s office on Friday. His file has been placed under investigation and an application for an arrest warrant has been made once morest him.
