(Archyde.com) – The Nasdaq closed lower on Friday, as growth-related blue chips came under pressure following earnings indicated higher interest rates, while ride-hailing service Lyft fell following negative earnings expectations.

Yields on the benchmark 10-year Treasury rose to their highest in more than a month following Thursday’s auction of 30-year notes saw weak demand.

According to preliminary data, the index closed up 8.99 points, or 0.22 percent, to 4,090.49 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 71.12 points, or 0.60 percent, to 11,718.46 points. The industrial index rose 169.88 points, or 0.50 percent, to 33,869.76 points.
