Emirates News Agency – Operation Gallant Knight/2: The UAE has so far sent 27 cargo planes to Syria and Turkey to provide relief to the earthquake victims

ABU DHABI, 10th February, 2020 (WAM) — Today, 5 cargo planes carrying relief materials for the earthquake victims in the two countries arrived in Turkey and Syria, bringing the total number of cargo planes that the UAE sent to them as part of Operation Gallant Knight / 2, which is led by the Joint Operations Command under the directives of the wise leadership, whose efforts are continuing. Relief in the two countries in cooperation with partners. The total of the UAE’s flight to Turkey reached 17 cargo planes, following the arrival of two planes today, and the total of what it flew to Syria reached 10 cargo planes, following the arrival of 3 planes carrying 107 tons of relief materials, including 87 tons of foodstuffs, 20 tons of medical materials, and 432 tents to shelter those affected by the war. Earthquake Work also continues to equip the mobile field hospital in a correctional area in Turkey, in preparation for its opening to receive the injured and start providing them with medical care.

The search and rescue teams continue their efforts amid difficult climatic conditions in which temperatures drop dramatically, as the team succeeded in rescuing 4 people in the Kermanmaraş region and extracting 9 victims from under the rubble, and the teams are still completing their efforts. The number of search and rescue teams in the Republic of Turkey has reached 92 Emirati rescue personnel who are carrying out their humanitarian duty in light of bad weather conditions.
