(PLO)- The report of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City on the implementation of renovation of the curriculum and general education textbooks shows that the quality of teachers and administrators has not been uniform, has not kept up with the requirements of innovation.
On the followingnoon of February 10, the National Assembly delegation of Can Tho City worked with the City People’s Committee to conduct thematic supervision on the implementation of Resolution No. 88/2014 and Resolution No. 51/2017 of the National Assembly on innovation. programs and textbooks (textbooks) of general education in the city.

According to the report of the City People’s Committee, the general education program in 2018 in addition to the results achieved, there are still some difficulties and problems.
Specifically, the facilities for program implementation in some localities have not yet responded in time. The size of student desks and chairs at some educational institutions in the area is not suitable for students. Subject classrooms of some educational institutions have not yet ensured the area and equipment inside according to regulations.
The quality of teachers and educational administrators is uneven, and there is a large gap between favorable and disadvantaged areas. A part of teachers in each school level still lacks self-study and innovation motivation, has not caught up with the requirements of management innovation, educational programs, methods, and the ability to use information technology.
Practical capacity and skills in organizing educational activities are still limited, affecting the quality of education. The number of teachers and educational administrators is still redundant and inadequate. The teaching staff is still not synchronized in structure at the lower secondary and high school levels in the context of the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program with a number of new subjects.

Evaluation of the quality and content of general education textbooks, the report shows that there are still some limitations and inadequacies such as some content used in some textbooks that have not yet ensured the connection between subjects. educational activities.
Besides, the visual material used has not been selected and unique. Some images have not focused on the main content to be expressed. The structure of the post does not ensure enough components as prescribed. Some questions and requirements are not clear regarding goals and results.
The selection of textbooks according to regulations takes regarding two months with a large number of titles, causing difficulties for teachers and administrators in both teaching and in-depth research to select textbooks.
