According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Moscow, the spokesman Kremlin Dmitry Peskov said on February 9 that an investigation was needed following it was reported that the US was involved in explosions that damaged the Nord Stream gas pipelines last year.

Speaking to the press, Peskov said that attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines should not be ignored without investigating and punishing those involved.

According to Peskov, Russia has repeatedly attempted to participate in the investigation of terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, but have been rejected.

Russia has never been allowed to participate in the international investigation into this incident. However, the relevant Russian agencies still “put this issue on the agenda.”

On the same day, an official from the Russian Foreign Ministry left open the possibility that Moscow would take “legal action” or politically related to the information.

The Russian side made the above view following the veteran American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh alleged that Washington was behind the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines carrying gas from Russia to Europe in September last year.

According to information posted on the personal blog of journalist Hersh, divers of the US Navy with the help of Norway planted explosives on Nord Stream gas pipelines running under the Baltic Sea between Russia and Russia. and Germany in June 2022. Explosions three months later damaged the pipeline system.

A spokesman for the US National Security Council, Adrienne Watson, said Hersh’s information was “completely fictional.”

In a similar move, a spokesman for the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) called the reports “completely untrue.”

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also denied the reports of journalist Hersh.

After large explosions in September 2022, experts discovered four leak locations on two Nord Stream pipelines 1 and 2.

Of these, two are within Sweden’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and two are within Denmark’s EEZ.

Western countries and Russia have blamed each other for the explosions. However, investigations carried out by the authorities of Sweden, Denmark and Germany to date have not blamed any country or entity.
