With the new Lightfall expansion, there are finally new darkness classes once more. Here’s everything we know regarding Strang.
In the new extension of Destiny 2, Lightfallthis time the Guardians are on their way to Neomuna to fight the former Cabal Emperor Calus and his Shadow Legion. With a new map, new missions, new weapons and a new raidthere’s a lot to do once more this time.
To help Guardians meet the new challenges, Bungie is also releasing a subclass for Guardians to experiment with. Strang is the name of the new class. This is the second darkness class we see in the game, following the Stasis class from the “Beyond Light” expansion. And so that you also know your way around, here’s everything we have to say regarding Strang knowledge.
New buffs and debuffs in Destiny 2: Lightfall
A new class also means, of course, new effects.
On the web: Weaving more or less simply means that you have created a new object out of strand.
tangle: Tangles are a “cluster” of threads that explode when shot, created by disintegrating enemies with strands. You can also pick them up and throw them.
Debuffs
Tie: Bound PvE enemies are briefly lifted off the ground and then attached to threads. As long as they are lifted up, they can do nothing. In PvP, however, other Guardians can still fight back as long as they are bound.
Decompose: If you attack an enemy that is decomposed, threads will explode out of it, which will then attack other enemies. When they get hit, they decompose too, and it goes on and on.
Tear: Actually the simplest of all. Torn enemies deal less damage.
Shared abilities for Hunter, Warlock and Titan
Before we go into detail regarding each class, let’s take a quick look at the skills they’ll all share.
All classes will come with their new Darkness Class”swinging” can. What that means is the grappling hook we got to see in the trailers, which lets you swing through the air. There will also be new grenade variations for all 3 classes, made from the tightly woven threads of Strang. And last but not least, you can also use your Hangel ability to perform a fatal melee attack that decomposes opponents.
Titan: Berserker
The new darkness class for titans is: Berserker. The focus of the class is melee combat. With your super ability blade frenzy, you form claws of cord and lunge at your opponents, slaughtering them with light and heavy attacks. With each light attack, your attack speed increases. And with each hit of a light attack, you charge the power of your next heavy attack.
With the new melee ability Ecstatic Blade, you sprint towards opponents and shred them. The ability has up to three charges, meaning Titans can use them in quick succession.
Titan aspects
Into the fray: Upgrade your armor with braided mail when you destroy a tangle. This reduces incoming damage and increases your melee regeneration while wearing the braided mail.
Elegant Whiplash: Sends out a frontal shockwave when you cast your Barrier ability, binding targets it hits.
Warlock: Sprossweber
For warlocks, the new class is called Sprossweber. Everyone in Destiny 2 always wanted to control creatures is right here. The super des Sprosswebers is called: Coniferous thunderstorm. It is, more or less literally, a thunderstorm. You create a shower of strand spikes that you unleash on enemies. They get stuck in enemies and the environment. They explode in enemies, but when stuck in the environment, they become threads that hunt down surviving enemies.
Your melee ability is called Arkane Nadel. This is a projectile that tracks enemies and decomposes them on hit. Similar to Titans, Warlocks also have three charges here.
Warlock Aspects
Hunter’s Call: When you use your Rift, three Maggot Eggs will be created. Once they touch a surface, they hatch and, believe it or not, attack enemies.
command of the mind: This aspect enhances your warlock’s grenade and grenade skills.
Hunter: Threadwalker
Last but not least, der thread walker. Although all guardians can swing, hunters seem to be able to do it a bit better. For example with her super ability silk stroke. It gets you hooked. From there you can then use your rope arrow to smash enemies out of the air. During the super you can shimmy several times, but you can also stay on the ground and really heat up your opponents with light and strong attacks.
With her melee ability thread tip Hunters can also throw their rope dart. He then jumps back and forth between several opponents. For each enemy hit, you regain melee energy.

Captivating Impact: When you’re in the air, you can plummet down with a devastating attack, binding all enemies hit on impact.
widow’s silk: If you hook something, you create a clutter for your whole team. You can also create multiple tangles at the same time, which will then allow you to move around much faster during combat or just in general.
