According to information from 18th Space Defense Squadron, a group that searches for space objects in orbit, Cosmos 2499 disintegrated on January 4 at an altitude of over 1169 km. The team was thus able to identify 85 space debris, all of which are dangerous and orbit around the Earth. 18th Space Defense Squadron recommends launching a recovery operation for this debris as soon as possible, because it can remain in orbit for several years.
