The High Authority for Health (HAS) must make new recommendations by the end of February, in particular on the possible introduction of an annual dose of vaccine once morest Covid-19.
The same recommendations as for the flu. This is what the High Authority for Health (HAS) might announce by the end of February, by introducing an annual dose of vaccine once morest Covid-19. But who would be affected?
According to information from Parisianthe HAS is preparing to make new vaccination recommendations, only concerning certain categories of the population for the moment, in particular people who are immunocompromised or particularly vulnerable to the virus.
“We are probably not going to propose a new vaccination for the general population: we will remain more on an annual vaccination schedule which will concern populations at risk”.
A vaccine like the flu
Indeed, the health situation in France is rather reassuring with only 5,000 contaminations per day, once morest 13,000 hospitalized patients. A situation so favorable that the Directorate General of Health decided to ease the restrictive measures on February 1st.
From now on, people who test positive for the virus are no longer required to isolate themselves, the same for contact cases who are no longer required to be tested.
If the project submitted to the college of the High Authority for Health were accepted, it would be possible to be vaccinated once a year (as in the United Kingdom) once morest Covid-19 and jointly with that of the flu. Immunocompromised people should however be vaccinated twice a year.
The two vaccination schedules can be joined: “it would undoubtedly be a question of making the two vaccinations coincide”, according to a member of the HAS. However, for the moment, it is a simple study by the Technical Commission on Vaccinations (CTV).
