After the conviction of the eight rugbiers for the crime of Fernando Báez Sosa In Villa Gesell that January 18, 2020, the judges that make up the Criminal Court No. 1 of Dolores announced the large sum that the guilty must pay the four lawyers who represented the family of the victim: Fernando BurlandoFabián Améndola, Facundo Améndola and Germán Facio.
In the sentence, judges María Claudia Castro, Christian Ariel Rabaia and Emiliano Lázzari established that the families of Máximo Thomsen, Ciro Pertossi, Enzo Comelli, Matías Benicelli, Luciano Pertossi, Ayrton Viollaz, Blas Cinalli and Lucas Pertossi they will have to pay in solidarity a total of 80 JUS (This is a unit of tariff measure equivalent to $6,854) to the four aforementioned lawyers.
Considering the reference values, every rugby player should pay $548.320. However, the number is higher for the $115,147.20 corresponding to Value Added Tax (VAT) of the indicated amount, in addition to $54,832 as contributions to the lawyers’ pension fund10% of the net value.
Therefore, the sum to be paid by those guilty of the murder of Fernando Báez Sosa amounts to $718,326.20without counting the fees that correspond to your defense attorney, Hugo Tomei,
In this regard, the judgment of the Court detailed: “The regulation of professional fees accrued in favor of Dr. Hugo José Tomei, for his role as defense attorney for the eight defendants, should be deferred, for the opportunity to accompany the proof of payment of the taxes of law”.

The verdict of the trial of Fernando Báez Sosa
Thomsen, Ciro Pertossi, Enzo Comelli, Matías Benicelli and Luciano Pertossi were sentenced to life imprisonment for being co-authors of the crime of doubly aggravated homicide. Meanwhile, for Ayrton Viollaz, Blas Cinalli and Lucas Pertossi received a sentence of 15 years in prison for being secondary participants.
In this context, the lawyer Fernando Burlando was dissatisfied with the 15-year prison sentence for Ayrton Viollaz, Lucas Pertossi and Blas Cinalli, and announced that he will appeal the ruling.
“A weak justice when evaluating sentences is not justice”observed Burlando, following affirming that the Court “had leniency with three defendants in an irrational way.”
