Over the past 1 month, import and export activities between Vietnam and China have returned to normal and the purchase price of agricultural products has gradually increased.
In the past 3 weeks, the price of durian has increased. In the durian growing area of Tien Giang province, the price has nearly doubled when the information on the Chinese market has returned to import.
China is a potential market, accounting for 19.2% of the export market structure of Vietnam’s agricultural, forestry and fishery products. Therefore, when this market opened, most Vietnamese agricultural products increased in price. Even many agricultural products have doubled their prices.
However, to export to China, there must be a planting area code. Therefore, people need to quickly register the planting area code to export back to this market.
Starting in 2022, China will tighten regulations on importing and exporting agricultural products to this market. Specifically, the Chinese side will change the level of pesticide residues in the direction of reducing the pesticide content to nearly equal to that of developed countries. Along with that, the country also stipulates the traceability of the origin and the growing area code.
According to the Plant Protection Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, this year Vietnam will continue to complete the dossier and standardize the planting area for official export for passion fruit, sweet potato, chili, some citrus trees and coconut…
As for the agricultural products that have been officially exported, they will be irregularly inspected to ensure that the codes of the growing areas and packing facilities comply with the actual requirements on the records. This is the basis to continue promoting exports when the demand for fruit in the Chinese market increases once more.
