La Méridionale has just been taken over by CMA-CGM, according to the site of the weekly Le Marin.
The shipping company which belongs to the Stef group (specialized in transport and logistics) was in difficulty, still according to Le Marin, due to the reduction of its perimeter in the public service delegation between the Continent and Corsica, increasing in recent years from two to three ships.
The Marseille shipping company specializing in mixed cargo (freight and passengers) had recently opened lines to Morocco which had proved to be financially costly.
