The Lebanese Red Cross indicated that “fabricated and false news is circulating on social media platforms and applications, attributed to the Lebanese Red Cross, with the aim of spreading panic in the hearts of citizens by broadcasting warning news regarding an earthquake in the south.”

The Red Cross “categorically denied that it had issued any warning of this kind,” and wished the citizens “not to contribute to spreading such false news.”
