(PLO)- Visiting Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History not only helps children understand history but also inspires literary creativity.
On the morning of February 8, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training held a contest Good literature or words City level for 150 students in grades 6,7,8,9 representing the Department of Education and Training in 22 districts, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Saigon Practical School – Saigon University.

The contest consists of 2 activities: experiential activities and creative activities. In the experiential activity, students were allowed to visit the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History. This is a way to help students understand history and see historical values from the perspective of young people. From there, they can do well on the exam in creative activities.

According to the organizers, compared to last year, this year’s contest has many new points. The first has created a connection in many aspects, connection between experience and creativity, connection between history and philology subjects, connection between young people and the past.
Secondly, it contributes to inspiring literary creativity for students by creating a new space of observation and reflection. When changing perspective, not only looking at history through the pages of textbooks, through printed materials but also looking at history in the museum’s display space, through ancient artifacts, students will understand better. regarding the length of thousands of years of Vietnamese history and culture as well as the cultural characteristics of the southern land. From there, breathe life into the pages of your own experience. Finally, the competition not only helps students to love literature and the art of writing more, but also helps students understand more and love more regarding the history of their country and their people.

Vo Pham Phuong Thao, a 7th grader at Le Thanh Cong Secondary School, Nha Be district, felt excited when participating in the contest.
Phuong Thao said, the contest is a useful playground for us to shine in our own way. The form of organizing the contest is quite new, it is not only performed in the school yard with limited space but also held at the museum. Here, we have the opportunity to understand and love more history by looking at specific artifacts.
“This is the inspiration for me to write because literature is not only found in books, literature is what we are experiencing” – Phuong Thao added.
Meanwhile, Pham Thai Bao, Binh Khanh Secondary School, Can Gio district was quite surprised when he visited the Museum. Thai Bao was fascinated by the image of a robot talking and introducing a historical event.
“This is my first time seeing this robot. It’s very modern and I find it quite impressive. A really interesting experience will help me write better” – Thai Bao confided.

Students will visit the museum for 1 hour. After that, the children will return to Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School, District 1 to take the exam. The exam will be related to the recent experience.
