All musicians do it – but very few talk regarding it! The subject of “practice” is a mystery to many. Even following hundreds of hours in the practice room, musicians are unsure whether they are using their practice time properly. An infinite number of questions arise: What should I practice? How long should I practice? At what pace should I practice? Which scale should I practice? How should I divide my practice time? …
The co-working music school “Musik Raum” founded by guitarist Martin Schlögl, the first of its kind in Vienna, is trying to answer these questions and is organizing an evening regarding practicing on February 13th! Two musicians with a very broad musical background talk regarding their personal approach to practicing and demonstrate on their instruments how practicing becomes music:
Anna Reisigl is a young, virtuoso electric and double bass player. She moves mainly in the field of contemporary jazz and classical music.
Flip Philipp is a percussionist with the Wiener Symphoniker and has worked with a large number of international musicians.
