The next scientific symposium “Vectors and pests, control and biodiversity” will be an opportunity to discuss these topics. Organized by the Vectopole Sud and Anse networks, it will be held on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 November 2022, face-to-face on the site ofAgropolis International in Montpellieras well as’in distance.
About twenty speakers from various backgrounds (IRD, CIRAD, Toulouse Veterinary School, EHESP, Louis Malardé Institute, Pasteur Institute, etc.) and representatives of overseas territories will present their recent work. Their interventions will focus in particular on:
- the emergence of vector-borne diseases in France, linked to ecosystem balances;
- the impacts of vector and pest control on insecticide resistance and biodiversity;
- the revegetation of cities and its impacts on vectors;
- the perception and social acceptability of innovative control methods;
- vector and pest research and control activities in overseas territories (DROM and COM).
Representatives of the metropolitan area of Montpellier, the PNSE4 and the ministries will take part in the exchanges.
This event is mainly aimed at scientists and players in vector control: researchers, regional health agencies, operators, communities, etc.
