macOS is in its thirteenth version, called Ventura. But Apple does not stop releasing updates for previous versions of the system. In January, for example, alongside macOS 13.2, Apple released macOS Monterey 12.6.3 and macOS Big Sur 11.7.3. And that 11.7.3 release is causing a little headache for some.
According to reports on the Apple support forum, no Twitter and on Reddit, a new bug was introduced with the update that causes website icons stored in the “Favourites” section (“Favorites”) do Safari do not appear. The name of the site itself is still visible, but it is undeniable that the image makes it very easy to quickly identify that site that you always visit/click on.
It’s not clear if Apple knew regarding the problem until then – but now, with it gaining the media, the company’s developers will definitely be alerted. There is also no way of knowing, at least for now, whether the bug can be resolved remotely or whether Apple will need to release a new update to fix it.
It is worth noting that this issue does not occur in the latest versions of macOS Monterey (12.6.3) and Ventura (13.2). Still, for those who can’t upgrade to one of these latest versions, 11.7.3 brought important security fixes — so the best way is to wait for a resolution from Apple.
