The Khawla Art Gallery in the Dubai Design District hosts the art exhibition “Impressions of Heritage” by the Lebanese artist Hibet Balaa Bawab, professor of plastic art at the Lebanese American University, during which 17 collage paintings and oil colors that represent reflections and inspiration from the artist’s visits to the country are displayed. The exhibition will continue until February 24.

Her Highness thanked the artist Hibet Balaa Bawab for her distinguished creative work, which reflects her great cultural and artistic balance, and highlights the most important message of art and culture in promoting civilized communication, harmony and love between peoples, stressing the commitment of “Khawla for Art and Culture” to dedicate all her efforts to support artists and creators at the level The country, the Arab world and the world, and give them the opportunity to highlight their creativity on the land of the Emirates, the land of culture, creativity and creators.
For her part, Rayan Hakki, director of the Khawla Art Gallery, said that the exhibition includes distinguished paintings that the artist was inspired by from nature and the daily events in which she was present and experienced, and her impressions of the Emirates in terms of heritage, desert and palm trees, inviting the public who tastes art to visit the exhibition and see these Masterpieces, especially for school students, to learn more regarding drawing tools in collage art in particular.
Local and heritage landscapes
For her part, the Lebanese artist Hibet Balaa Bawab said: The exhibition includes oil paintings and other mix media collages, pointing out that she makes the paper used in her paintings herself from different materials instead of taking scraps from the surrounding environment, and then determines the techniques and materials used in the painting, whether It was in acrylic or ink, calligraphy, etching or silkscreen printing.
She explained that her artwork monitors the daily scenes of the city and the local and heritage landscapes, and reflects nostalgia for the past, which are reflections of issues facing her in daily life, and the different cultures around her combined in the UAE, which affected her conscience and applied it in her paintings, directing her thanks and appreciation for the support she received. From “Khawla for Art and Culture” to hold the exhibition, expressing her pride in her presence in the “Khawla Art Gallery”, hoping that this exhibition will be the beginning of other exhibitions, in cooperation with this distinguished institution.
