Owners of electric vehicles will soon be able to charge their cars in 15 minutes thanks to a new fast charging station designed by FLO.

The Quebec manufacturer of charging stations announced on Tuesday the launch of its fast terminal FLO Ultra. The latter should be put into service from 2024, it was specified in a press release.
“Demand and sales for electric vehicles are exceeding all industry expectations and are now expected to exceed more than 45% of U.S. light-duty vehicle sales by 2030,” said Nathan Yang, vice president and chief product officer at FLO.
FLO claims that this new station will be able to charge most electric vehicles to 80% in 15 minutes with an output of up to 320 kW using dynamic power sharing. The power can even reach up to 500 kW with several electric vehicle charging stations connected together.
Visually, the FLO Ultra terminal is very different from what the company has designed so far. It also has two charging ports in an aluminum case.
“The flexible, modular design of the FLO Ultra model allows charging from one side or both sides and while parked in parallel or in rows for charging,” added Nathan Yang.
A motorized cable management system should also be implemented, once patented. This system keeps cables off the ground while its extended reach allows charging no matter where the vehicle port is positioned. The cables will also be lighter and easier to maneuver.
