Initially, Tran Duc Hieu (18 years old) worked at a coffee shop on Nguyen Huu Huan Street, Hoan Kiem District. During the working process, Hieu was in conflict with NHP (19 years old, Hieu’s colleague) because he thought that this person often spoke ill of himself and his family.

Around 9:30 pm on January 31, Hieu went home to get a knife. At 23:30 on the same day, at the end of the shift, Hieu invited DH (17 years old) and three other people (from 15 to 18 years old) to stand guard at the parking lot near the cafe.

At regarding 0:00 on 1-2, seeing P coming to get a motorbike, the group beat the victim’s council with sticks, bricks, and glass bottles. Hieu himself smashed P’s motorbike with a knife, slashing the victim’s back. The incident only stopped when people discovered and intervened.
