Many other Turkish athletes are also buried under the rubble. The Malatya Metropolitan Belediyespor men’s volleyball team was trapped because the hotel where they were staying collapsed due to the earthquake. However, three athletes, Enes, Mustafa and Berk, were rescued.

According to wrestler Taha Akgkul, as many as 30-40 of his colleagues are still under the rubble at Kahramanmaras. “The building where our 30-40 wrestlers lived at the wrestling club in Kahramanmaraş was also demolished. Our athletes are lying under the rubble. We are waiting for urgent help. Please help us, God,” Taha Akgkul shared.

Turkish football club Iskenderunspor said two of its coaches were buried under the rubble along with many other residents. All club members are trying to rescue and they hope to get more help from AFAD (Turkish Emergency and Disaster Response Agency).

Two earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 respectively hit southeastern Turkey and northern Syria at dawn on Monday morning. About 1,700 people are believed to have died in the border area. . Rescuers are actively working to find survivors.
