  • A building that might not be more luxurious is to be built in Miami from spring 2023.

  • Among other things, residents will be able to drive their cars directly to their homes.

  • But first they have to dig deep into their pockets.

In the city of Miami, Florida, a new one is to be completed by 2026 built skyscrapers will be – but not just any: The Bentley Residences will be equipped with all amenities among other things, the residents will even be able to use the elevator to get to their apartment while they are still sitting comfortably in their cars.

The 63-storey glittering building will contain 216 luxury apartments with sweeping sea views, according to CNN. But what is special regarding the Bentley Residences are the patented elevator systems. The four lifts, which travel at a speed of 243 meters per minute, are each equipped with a hydraulic system that loads each vehicle into the lift and then takes occupants directly to their respective front doors. The apartments offer space for up to four cars and charging facilities for electric cars.

One of the architects, Charles Sieger, admits he was initially concerned that the speed of the lift would make it feel like a roller coaster – until he tried it himself. “It was actually disappointing because you sit in a comfortable cabin and you hardly notice that you’re moving so fast,” says Sieger.

The residential building will also have 20,000 square meters of community facilities: restaurants, bars, a fitness center, a spa, a games room and a cinema. The architect’s office promises that every single apartment will also be furnished with every comfort: For example, there will be a sauna with a view of the Atlantic in the main bathroom and a huge balcony with a private heated swimming pool and an outdoor kitchen. “In this building, some of the outdoor areas will be regarding half the size of the apartment,” says Sieger. On the higher floors, the balconies will be partially glazed to keep out the wind.

Although the building will not be ready for occupancy for three years, the apartments are already being sold. The prices are hefty: the smallest apartments are available from 5.25 million dollars (equivalent to over 4.8 million francs), the two penthouses from 30 million dollars each. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring.
