Covid-19: Minsal reports 15 deaths, 1,061 cases and 17% positivity in Aysén, with 7,000 tests | National

With today’s balance, Chile accumulates 5,129,209 infections, 36.26% of them in less than a year under the Boric management; 52,169 confirmed deaths and 11,741 probable deaths.

This Monday the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) added 15 deaths to the national list due to the covid-19 pandemic in Chile, 14 of them confirmed and one suspected.

In this way the total deaths associated with the disease rose to 63,910 in the midst of the emergency, 52,169 confirmed by SARS-CoV-2 and 11,741 classified as probable.

Considering the total deaths, the age group from 80 to 89 years continues to be the most affected with 17,278 losses, 27.03%.

Until today, the group over 70 years brings together 65.54% of all deaths linked to covid-19.

1,061 new cases of covid-19

For its part, the Ministry of Health (Minsal) announced 1,061 new infections of covid-19 in Chile, 756 symptomatic and 261 patients who were not notified of their positive case.

With the result of the day, the total number of patients in the active stage of the disease dropped from 4,514 to 3,964, 1,525 of them in the MRI.

Thus, the total number of infections officially registered in Chile is 5,129,209, 1,860,147 of them following March 12, 2022, 36.26% of the total in less than a year.

However, the Minsal prepared this report with only 7,696 samples, 4,503 of them PCR and 3,193 antigen tests, which are not used to determine positivity or to sequence new variants.

Even so, the Government estimates that the pandemic contracted 12.1% in the last week and 34.1% in the 14-day comparison, according to its today’s announcement.

Finally, the national positivity of the PCR was set at 7.64%, although Aysén scored 17.31%, O’Higgins 13.16% and Antofagasta 10.20%.

The most recent data on hospitalized is from Saturday, since the Minsal does not update this table on weekends: 802 patients hospitalized for covid-19 in Chile, 107 in the ICU and 122 in the ICU.
