The government will put in place more than welcome aid in these times of crisis. A premium of 5000 euros for your heating…

The energy crisis is causing trouble in the daily life of the French people. With the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, gas price increase and booming inflation, bills are rising visibly. This, to the chagrin of the average citizen. Indeed, aid, tariff shields and other bonuses are struggling to stop the bleeding. It is nevertheless clear that the State is doing its best to cushion the price of these hazards. Still, the poorest brave the cold as best they can. This is the case of a young woman, interviewed by RMC. Penniless, Mara lives without heating or hot water and with gas problems. “Wrapped up in a fleece jacket, she shivers”, details the journalist who met her. For its part, the Executive is preparing to offer a generous bonus for new installations. A better way heat up and at a lower cost.

A “boost” from the State to save on heating

Geothermal heat pumps are not on the rise at the moment. Indeed, this offer is still very marginal. Something that the government wants to change, in short. And this, thanks to an advantageous premium. Households wishing to equip themselves with it will be entitled to a bonus of at least 5000 euros. And “boost” which will be deployed in March 2023. By the year 2025, the State would like to double the number of geothermal heat pumps. For now, it is mainly buildings in the Paris region that are equipped with it. The advantage is twofold since it allows a considerable reduction in the bill. “These pieces of equipment last for decades, so it really is an investment that makes sense”, said Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister of Energy Transition. If the country has 200,000 pumps, only 3000 are sold each year.

Geothermal heat pump grant: up to 16,000 euros in financing

You will be able to swap your thermal boiler for a geothermal heat pump from March. This, thanks to the aid of the State of 5000 euros, without conditions of income. Previously, this bonus was 4,000 euros for the most modest households and 2,500 euros beyond the minimum threshold. It is clear that you can combine it with other aids. And this, up to 16,000 euros. Count around 18,000 euros to finance this kind of work. Of course, this depends on individual circumstances. In some cases, the cost of the work can exceed 20,000 euros on the most complicated sites. It depends on the soil and the depth of the boreholes. The ultimate objective for the State would be to achieve “to produce in 15 to 20 years enough geothermal heat to save 100 TWh of gas per year »underlines the minister.
