Two children, tied in a stroller, fell into the water in the port of Cavalaire on Sunday February 5 and were saved in extremis by their mother, volunteer firefighters and soldiers present on the spot.
Two 24-month-old children fell into the water in the port of Cavalaire, in the Var, on Sunday February 5. The twins, installed in a stroller, were rescued in time.
As soon as the double stroller escaped her, the children’s mother dove into the water to save her two boys. Fortunately, two volunteer firefighters were present on a nearby boat and were able to rescue the family.
Human chain to save the family
“Used to rescue gestures, the two men placed themselves on the dock near the stroller and formed a chain: one at the dock to secure the gestures and the other submerged, in order to recover the babies”, explained an officer. Two soldiers, also on board a boat, came to support the two rescuers by forming a human chain.
Luckily, the babies were not submerged by the waters and were able to be untied by firefighters and brought to shore safely before being dressed in warm clothes. The mother, in a state of shock, was also taken care of.
