Dendrimer and hyperbranched polymers – Additives for wood glues and foams: Complete file

Dendrimer and hyperbranched polymers are multibranched “tree-like” chemical entities, which allow applications in different fields thanks to their terminal groups. Each polymer can have different properties depending on the nature of the chemical compounds used, each compound being responsible for determining the type of repeated units, ramifications, etc. Consequently, all of these parameters can induce remarkable distinctions in terms of solubility, polarity and global reactivity. I’incorporation of such entities into a polymer system is generally intended for induce hardening and improve rheological properties or else to provide better adhesion. Also, beyond the well-known applications in the biomedical field, this article presents new perspectives for the use of dendritic and hyperbranched polymers for the improvement of wood glues and also the development of foams.
