Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki condemned Western countries for double standards. In his opinion, they chose a different approach to Russia’s annexation of Crimea and Israel’s “occupation of the Palestinian territories”.
“Europeans and Americans imposed sanctions on Russia for the events that took place in Crimea, while they refrained from any action once morest Israel, which has occupied Palestinian territories for the past 55 years. This is indeed a reflection of double standards that we do not accept, and I know that Russia does not accept them either,” Mr. al-Maliki said. “RIA Novosti”.
In January, Russia and the United States were engaged in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. Thus, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken personally visited Israel and Palestine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Russia discussed the issue with his Egyptian counterpart.
