As part of the trade that sends Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks, Spencer Dinwiddie is packing his bags following only two seasons in Dallas. The opportunity for him to find the team that knew him at his prime, at least when he exploded.
Thunderbolt in the NBA! The Nets and the Mavericks took advantage of a much too quiet Sunday evening to talk business and shake up the orange planet. After four seasons in Brooklyn Kyrie Irving packs her bags and flies to Texasto Dallas, in a trade that includes several rounds of drafts, Dorian Finney-Smith et Spencer Dinwiddie.
BREAKING: The Brooklyn Nets are trading Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round and multiple second-round picks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

For the latter, it is a return to basics: in the past, Dinwiddie played five seasons for Brooklyn, and we remember in particular his 2019-2020 season, during which the leader aligned statistics worthy of an All-Star, with more than 20 points on average, accompanied by nearly 7 assists. An impressive year that he will nevertheless never be able to repeat. The following season, Dinwiddie broke his cruciate ligament and missed the entire 2021 exercise. He took advantage of l’off season to join the Wizards, but will only serve six months before transferring to Dallas. His role will be less alongside the prodigy that is Luka Doncic and he will ultimately never have been able to express his game as much as he might when he played under the orders of Kenny Atkinson, even if his 17.7 pawn average this season did not fall from the sky either.
Spencer Dinwiddie will have spent two years with the Mavs, never allowing Doncic and his family to pass the next level. Will the return to Brooklyn allow the point guard to return to top form? In any case we wish him, it’s not us that we say it’s Paga.
When @ShamsCharania says it’s time to go you pack your bags.
Plus Elijah said he wanted to go back home ???????????? https://t.co/Enuqat6v0N

At 29, Spencer Dinwiddie is back where it all almost began. To become a leader once more, but alongside whom, that’s a damn good question.
