The free mobile data connection program for students will begin in March

Starting next month, the first steps of the free internet connection program for students announced by the Government of Córdoba will be taken. The benefit will reach 600,000 secondary, tertiary and university students in the province who will have 3 gigabytes of data per month, according to the promise of Governor Juan Schiaretti.

“Digitization is today a fundamental tool for education and to equalize the possibility of all our students to have access to it is that we will launch the program and thus move towards universalization in the use of the Internet in education,” he said. Schiaretti.

The Minister of Education Walter Grahovac indicated that “this program will strengthen two relevant aspects at a time when the digitalization of culture does not stop its progress: on the one hand, all Cordovan students up to 25 years of age who attend secondary and tertiary levels ( state and private educational institutions with state contributions) and those of public universities, will have guaranteed access to the universal library that is the Internet and, on the other hand, teachers will have greater possibilities of expanding their pedagogical strategies while having the certainty of that those tasks entrusted to their students can be resolved through the use of the Internet, strengthening the teaching-learning processes with the use of tics complemented with printed texts, enhancing the capacity of search engines and the infinity of sources of information and of platforms that are relevant to all curricular fields”.

Before the announcement of the launch of the program, some students expressed their expectations. “It will be a very positive project that will have a great impact. Many students are looking for work at home and do not have access to Wi-Fi and that limits a lot,” explained Rocío Jorge, president of the IPEM 2 Student Center in Parque Las Rosas.

“It is very important to have data, not only for teaching the classes, but also so that the student can access the information anywhere without the need for a Wi-Fi network, either to print the note from the virtual classroom or because You are traveling and have to send homework. The student will have much more freedom to be anywhere and remain connected to the faculty,” said Agustín Canto, president of the student center of the Faculty of Dentistry of the National University of Córdoba (UNC).
