At the end of last year, the Twitter included the verification badge as one of the features of its subscription service. This measure caused a lot of confusion on the platform, with several accounts pretending to be famous and companies, leading to a reformulation of the resource.
Even so, it seems that the idea “stuck”: the developer Alexander Paluzzi found references to a “paid blue badge” in the codes of the latest versions of the apps Instagram e Facebookas well as others regarding a new subscription service that wasn’t there before.
Paluzzi is known for having access to Instagram news in advance, as it happened with the Candid Stories. According to TechCrunchhowever, the social network refused to comment on the rumor – unlike its usual behavior regarding possible future functions in testing.
As stated by the developer, this is still a rumor at a very early stage, even if it might mean something in the future. Instagram’s current verification system already struggles with schemes for parallel buying verified profiles, so a change in this area would be welcome.
It is not known, however, if we will really see something like Twitter Blue, which includes other additional features beyond verification, or if Meta will follow another strategy. We can only wait to see how this will unfold.
