Researchers from the Loricorps Research Group of the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR) have formalized a partnership with the Research Center of the University Institute in Mental Health of Montreal of CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’ Island of Montreal (CR-IUSMM).
Loricorps is 10 years of research and expertise in the fight once morest eating disorders.
They will be both at the University and at the Research Center to continue to develop their tools to fight eating disorders. They will join some sixty Montreal researchers in mental health and more than 150 students.
“We cover a lot of mental health issues as expertise among our researchers, but we absolutely lacked that of eating disorders. There are many other mental health problems in fact for which this dietary dimension is crucial, ”explained the scientific director of the Research Center of the University Institute of Montreal, Stéphane Guay.
The digital tools will be deployed over a larger territory and will allow better supervision, particularly in regions that are less well served by mental health care programs.
Virtual reality, mobile application… All sorts of strategies will be developed.
“When we develop digital health, well, we become more accessible, we allow greater efficiency, we prevent the issues from persisting over time and therefore, it allows us to shine in all the different regions”, explained the researcher and head of the Loricorps Research Group, UQTR-CR-IUSMM Johana Monthuy-Blanc.
The objective: to fight once morest eating disorders, especially during this week of awareness.
