Around 2pm this followingnoon (Italy time), circus artists Quoc Co and Quoc Nghiep officially set a new world record in Milan. They broke their own previous record.
Quoc Co and Quoc Nghiep practiced until 10 am this morning (Italy time), then proceeded to set a new world record at 2 pm.
Cousins Giang must blindfold, overlap, go up 10 stairs 50cm wide, each step is 30cm apart, go straight line 10m long and 50cm wide and then go down 10 similar stairs within 1 minute.
After sharing their feelings with the Vietnamese audience before G, Quoc Co and Quoc Nghiep proceeded to set a record. They completed the performance quite smoothly, successfully breaking their own old record.
Sharing his feelings following holding a new record, Quoc Co said he was nervous at the moment when he took a step in the wrong direction, almost falling off a straight line 2m above the ground.
Meanwhile, Quoc Nghiep was emotional when he achieved the final milestone in the two brothers’ peak playing careers. “We have not let our supporters down,” he said.
Previously, in early January, circus artists Quoc Co and Quoc Nghiep accepted an invitation from the Guinness World Records Organization to go to Milan to set a new record.
They set up a training ladder according to the technical requirements of the Organization, practicing together from January 15 until leaving on January 31 (Vietnam time).
The schedule of the Giang brothers in Milan is expected to take place from February 1-7. Yesterday followingnoon, they went to the headquarters of the Guinness World Records to record and interview. The two brothers wore red ao dai printed with a yellow star.
Around 2:00 p.m. on the same day, Quoc Co and Quoc Nghiep together checked the performance frame and practiced in the 6 degrees Celsius weather. Initially, they practiced smoothly without blindfolds.
However, when blindfolded, the two brothers encountered difficulties. Quoc Co stepped away from the 50cm wide straight line, causing Quoc Nghiep to fall from a height of 2m. Thanks to the thick padding, neither of them were injured.
However, the fall made the two circus performers nervous. The record-setting session didn’t have the same safety cushion as the training session. Late at night, Quoc Nghiep was in pain and had to stretch his neck muscles with tools because of an followingnoon fall.
After completing this trip, Quoc Co and Quoc Nghiep will both officially end their peak competitive careers.
Despite many risks, they still decided to try because they wanted to contribute to the circus and the country. In addition, they feel the respect of the Guinness World Records when holding the first husband-to-be circus record for Giang Brothers from Vietnam.
