Mr. On confided: In a purely agricultural countryside, with little land, it is very difficult to get more income. In 1996, I made a trip to learn experiences from Binh Lam flower village, in Phuoc Hoa commune, Tuy Phuoc district (Binh Dinh province) for flower villages, gardeners providing seedlings in Da Lat to learn techniques.
Mr. Dinh Van On (Quang Nghiep village, Phuoc Hung commune, Tuy Phuoc district (Binh Dinh province) takes care of chrysanthemums for Tet sale.
In the first year, regarding 100 pots of my chrysanthemums had satisfactory flowers, but the leaves fell a lot, customers criticized, so they might only recover their capital. But for me it was a success. On the next New Year, I increased to 300 pots, and at the same time boldly created a beautiful shape for the flower pots, the chrysanthemum flowers bloomed on New Year’s Eve and they were beautiful, so traders bought them all at once.
So far, I have rented land and planted thousands of pots each year. Many relatives around saw me growing chrysanthemums to sell Tet with good income, so they came to visit and learn, I happily helped them with seeds and techniques, so everyone had a good income. Thanks to that, we now have a whole village of chrysanthemums.
Mr. Dinh Van Tha, from the same village of Quang Nghiep, who was instructed by Mr. On the technique of growing daisies for Tet sale, said: Not only me, the people who wanted to plant chrysanthemum came to ask Mr. , planting was successful, so everyone loved him and elected him as the vice leader of the chrysanthemum – apricot growing profession. As for me, the last Tet flower crop, I made a profit of 74 million VND. For that, Mr.’s help is great.
Commenting on Mr. Dinh Van On, Mr. Le Van Thu, Head of Quang Nghiep village, shared: Mr. An was the first person in Phuoc Hung commune to grow daisies for Tet sale; He also directly helped 15 households in the village with seeds and techniques for the people to follow and everyone has a good income.
Now not only in my village growing chrysanthemums to sell Tet but this profession has spread to Bieu Chanh and An Cuu villages of Phuoc Hung commune. With the responsibility of being the vice president of the career team, he is always ready to help members in need.
They all have good incomes and for many years have formed a mutual support relationship from choosing to buy varieties, sowing time, flower care techniques so that they can bloom in time for Tet; together exploiting customers with “3 common” (common technique, same variety, same selling price) should bring high efficiency.
It is known that 80 farmer households in the professional association of 3 adjacent villages – Bieu Chanh, Quang Nghiep, An Cuu – planted 30,000 pots of chrysanthemum flowers for the Lunar New Year of the year 2023, an increase of 10,000 pots compared to last year and the business revenue reached over 6 billion VND.
