Kochi: The police has submitted a first information report to the Moovatupuzha Vigilance Court once morest advocate Saibi Jose in the case of accepting bribes from many people in the name of paying high court judges. According to the FIR, he received money between July 2020 and April 2022 by impersonating judges.

The money was bought with the intention of making unfair profit by deceiving the parties and the opposite parties. It does not include how much the transactions were or with whom the transactions were made. Kochi City Police Commissioner K. Sethuraman is the complainant in the FIR. The case was registered under Section 7(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.

The crime branch has also started an investigation into the allegations once morest Saiby Jose. The Special Investigation Team will meet on Friday to discuss further steps. In the first phase, the statements of four lawyers who gave statements to the Vigilance Division of the High Court once morest him will be recorded. Saybi Jose’s statement will also be recorded.
