After the rain in Córdoba, the temperature dropped and the rivers grew: they warn neighbors and tourists

After the rains recorded during the early morning in different parts of the province of Córdoba, the Secretary for Risk and Catastrophe Management warned residents and tourists regarding the flooding of the rivers for this Thursday.

Claudio Vigneta, Secretary of Risk and Catastrophe Management, explained that in the early hours of Thursday there were already floods in the San Antonio, San José and San Clemente rivers, and the situation was expected to normalize only in the followingnoon.

“We have had rainfall of between 10 and 40 millimeters in a large part of the province,” he said in dialogue with Miter Cordoba.

And he added: “The San Antonio and San José rivers grew 1.5 meters, the San Clemente river is growing. The flooding of the rivers will continue during the morning”.

After 9 o’clock, the flood from San Antonio entered Villa Carlos Paz, accumulating 3.5 meters.

In this context, Vignetta asked neighbors and tourists for caution.

“From the followingnoon the situation would be regularized,” he estimated.

Weather in Córdoba: the forecast for this Thursday

For this Thursday, temperatures are expected to rise to 31 degrees in the capital Córdoba, in a day that will continue to be unstable.

How much it rained in Punilla and Santa María

In the San Antonio river basin, rainfall reached an average peak of 20.6 millimeters.

In Las Jarrillas they were 17 millimeters.

Meanwhile, in the Cosquín River rainfall was 19.56 millimeters.

Finally, in the Las Mojarras and Los Chorrillos basin, rainfall accumulated 16.75 millimeters.

As a result of the weather conditions, the Highway Police warned motorists regarding driving on routes and roads in the province.

  • Saturday. The conditions would be repeated.
  • Domingo. The minimum would be 22 and the maximum, 34.
  • Monday. A minimum of 25 and a maximum of 37 are expected.
