Nigeria challenges this sentence on the grounds that P&ID secured both the original contract and the arbitration victory by lying and bribing Nigerian officials and lawyers. Accusations that this offshore company registered in the Virgin Islands refutes by means of a defense which consists in blaming the defeat of the country on the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, castigating “the endemic institutional incompetence” of the government Nigerian.
