In this world, the majority of people are driven by the need to fulfill themselves or to please others. We hate failure and are driven by the desire to do more or have more than others: a bigger church, a bigger house, more compliments, more notoriety, etc.
And you, in everything you do, what is your source of motivation? I would like to offer you an alternative: to have as a source of motivation the smile of the Father on your life!
To walk in obedience to the Father is to walk constantly aware of having the Father smiling at us from His throne in Heaven.
Jesus showed us the way. He ignored his reputation and constantly sought the Father’s approval. He might say:The Son can do nothing on his own initiative; he acts only according to what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does, for the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he does.” (Jean 5.19)
Imagine the scene, Jesus sees the Father blessing children, touching lepers. He does the same and sees the Father smiling back at him!
In the secret place, seek the presence of the Father, his face, his smile. The more you are absorbed by his smile and his gaze, the less the approving gaze of others will be worth.
Thus you will be able to affirm like Jesus:My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to finish his work.” (Jean 4.34)
Every day, seek his face, and as for Jesus, you will be able to feel the Father saying to you with a broad smile: “You are my beloved Son/Daughter, in you I put all my affection.”
Elisten to the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God has to say regarding approval. It’s so important to us!
Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer: “Lord, you know me, you know how insecure and insecure I am. Please come free me from the gaze of others. I desire with all my heart to please you and to feel your smile on my life“.

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Do you realize how much the Lord loves you? He looks at you kindly and smiles at you. Sit in a quiet place, and take the time to meditate on the smile of God on you. Then let your beloved child’s heart speak!
Aact today
Now, in situations where you are a prisoner of the gaze of others, remain calm and imagine God’s smile upon you. Similarly, when your manager wants to meet you, don’t let your emotions take over, and don’t immediately assume the worst. Gradually, you will relax and change your attitude. For the Lord is your deliverer!
