Price of an electricity subscription – Solidarity Economy

Since the opening of the electricity market, several companies have offered many interesting offers. ENGIE is one of the leading suppliers in the field. Consumers now have the choice between several tariffs. Regarding the electricity subscription, it is necessary to take into account the power of the meter and the choice of supplier to determine the price. We will thus discover the price of an electricity subscription according to the chosen offer.

The regulated tariff

This is an electricity subscription offer offered by the State through EDF. By opting for this rate, you will have the choice between two pricing methods: the basic rate and the off-peak/peak hours option.

First of all, the basic tariff is characterized by a meter power between 3 kVA and 36 kVA. Whatever the hour of consumption in a day, the kWh of electricity is at a fixed price. The price is then 0.1740 Euros/kWh regardless of the power of the electricity.

Therefollowing, the off-peak/peak hours option offers an electricity subscription with a power greater than or equal to 6 kVA. Peak hours last approximately 16 hours per day with a price of 0.1841 Euros per kWh. On the other hand, off-peak hours only last 8 hours with a lower price amounting to 0.1470 Euros.

Market offers

The price of electricity offers at an indexed price is set according to changes in the regulated tariff. It is the new suppliers who submit this type of offer to customers. However, the price per kWh is below the regulated tariff.
It is therefore possible to make savings on the electricity bill by opting for the market offer. The advantage for the consumer is that the price can only be increased by decision of the Commission de la Régulation de l’Energie.

There are other interesting market offers such as those offered by ENGIE. A distinction is made between the Elec Reference 1-year tariff and the ElecHapp-e tariff. Both tariffs also include basic options and off-peak/peak hours.

Elec Reference 1 year

The price per kWh for the basic option is 0.2884 Euros. The price per kWh during peak hours is 0.3975 while off-peak hours benefit from 0.1364 Euros per kWh.

ElecHapp-e by engie

The kWh costs 0.1806 for the basic option. For peak hours, kWh costs 0.1911 while off-peak hours is priced at 0.1526.

After being informed regarding the characteristics of the different types of offers, the choice is yours, regulated tariff or market offer: which to choose? However, there is a final alternative, namely fixed price offers.

Fixed price offers

It is possible to choose fixed price offers for the electricity subscription. The rate is quite interesting because the amount of kWh does not change for a specific period. Moreover, this information is available as soon as the contract is signed. It is then certain that the tariff will not increase or decrease during the period of the contract. Unlike market offers, the price offered does not depend on the regulated tariff.

Among the advantages of fixed price offers is the possibility of terminating a contract at any time. And above all, this cancellation is free of charge.
