Details Offered About Murder of 10-Year-Old Girl Murdered in 1993 – NBC Connecticut

New details regarding the murder case of a 10-year-old girl from western Massachusetts, which occurred in 1993, would be revealed this Wednesday by the authorities.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni is scheduled to share evidence in the Holly Piirainen case at a news conference at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in a further attempt to help the public resolve the case, his office said. Prosecutors did not share further details, but sources told NBC10 investigators that the announcement is related to evidence found during the Brimfield search for Holly.

Holly, who lived in Grafton, was visiting her grandparents in Sturbridge with her brother when she was killed in August 1993. Her father saw her heading to a house to play with puppies, authorities said, and reported her missing when she did not return.

His body was found in the vicinity of Brimfield on October 23, 1993, in the woods on Five Bridge Road.

The investigation has continued since his body was found, and his family has continued to hold out hope that the case will be resolved.

“It will definitely be resolved. It’s just a matter of time,” Holly’s grandmother, Maureen Lemieux, said when police and the family launched a campaign seeking leads in 2017. “We have material that was recovered from the scene, we have DNA from certain We have a lot of evidence, we just need that final push.” Anyone with information regarding the case should call the state police at -413-505-5946 or 1-855-MA-SOLVE (1-855-627-6583), or text the word ” Solve” to 274637.
