This is the bad surprise for customers FLIGHT et Next at the start of the year. A few days ago, VOO announced an increase in its prices on February 1. As for Proximus customers, they have seen their bill increase somewhat since the 1is January.

VOO has decided to increase its prices by approximately 6% and justifies this increase by “the completely exceptional economic situation”: energy prices, inflation above 10%, consequences linked to the pandemic such as the difficulties in supplying certain electronic components, the prices of which have also increased. These are all factors that directly affect the sector of telecomsexplains the operator.

On the side of Next, most services grew 4-6% on average. Flex packs recorded a monthly increase of 3 to 4.5 euros. On the mobile side, the prices of certain old products will be raised, while the use of online data and calls will be more expensive for prepaid customers outside the combined offer.

Faced with this rise in prices, we can ask ourselves a question: are the offers of these two large Belgian operators still interesting? According to a satisfaction survey of Purchasing testsmall operators, often less expensive, satisfy more and more Belgians.

Internet

Regarding theinternet at home, it is EDPnet that stands out: ” The success of EDPnet is obviously explained by its competitive prices for unlimited high-speed Internet, but also by special features such as the free choice of modem, which the operator is currently the only one to offer. explains Kristof Van Ostaede, the telecom expert at Test Achats. However, the consumer association does not recommend switching to EDPnet for the time being due to the operator’s current financial difficulties.

Next is at the bottom of the ranking. A position that can be explained, among other things, by its large number of customers, ” and therefore potentially more dissatisfied customers », explains the expert.

Mobile telephony

In terms of mobile telephony, small operators are still at the top of the rankings. EDPnet, Mobile Vikings, Jim Mobile, Carrefour Mobile, Youfone… These “virtual” operators rent the network from another operator and offer cheaper rates than their competitors. ” In the end, satisfaction is therefore largely determined by the wallet adds Test Achats.

Once once more, Proximus is at the bottom of the ranking, just before “Hey! telecom”. FLIGHT does a little better and gets the 7e place.

Bundles

Bundles are the most popular and offer the most attractive discounts. ” But if you don’t use (or no longer use) all the services in your package, the bill is too high. This is why many consumers are abandoning bundles and only combining the services they really need. », explique Kristof Van Ostaede.

The 15,000 Belgians questioned by Purchasing test as part of this satisfaction survey placed Telenet at the top of this ranking. Then come Scarlet, Orange, VOO and Next.
