There are players who don’t need 1000 chances to earn their place in the NHL. We will still keep a small reserve, but Rafaël Harvey-Pinard is getting closer and closer to a full-time locker in Montreal.

From the second period, Martin St-Louis bet on Harvey-Pinard to the left of Nick Suzuki and Josh Anderson. He did not regret his choice. And the number 49 thanked him for this vote of confidence by scoring two goals in the third period.
“When you score goals and they’re important because you’re coming back into the game, it’s even more enjoyable,” noted Harvey-Pinard. Both times I tied the score. Even though I changed lines, I wasn’t more stressed. I continued to play my way. »
Brady Tkachuk, however, cast a little shadow on this great evening for Harvey-Pinard by scoring the winning goal at the end of the third period. The Canadiens didn’t play a perfect game, but the team still showed character in this 5-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators.
Five goals in seven games
Since his recall from the Laval Rocket, Harvey-Pinard has now hit the target five times and collected six points in just seven games.
But beyond the numbers, he plays as he always has: with a lot of heart and intensity.
I paused it
At this last duel before the All-Star game break and a five-day break, St-Louis sent a message to its players in the morning.
“Be a pro, respect the day and respect the game,” the head coach said.
The CH did not sign a victory, but the spirit of competition was there. A bad start in the first period and the magic of Tim Stützle (two goals, two assists) finally tipped the balance in the visitors’ camp.
Unlucky on Tkachuk’s winning goal, Jake Allen finished the game giving up five goals on 29 shots.
What we noticed…
HOFFMAN DÉGAINE
Mike Hoffman has always had a reputation as a power play threat. For the visit of the Senators, number 68 used his main weapon profusely by unleashing several slap shots. He hit Anton Forsberg six times, attempting nine shots. At the end of the second period, he ended up outsmarting the Sens goalkeeper with a powerful shot following a good play by Mike Matheson. On this sequence, Matheson blocked a clearance from Tyler Motte on the fly before spotting number 68.
XHEKAJ AND TKACHUK
It was kinda written in the sky. Brady Tkachuk and Arber Xhekaj have personalities to stoke a fire. With a second game in a row between the two teams, Xhekaj and Tkachuk got to know each other a little closer. The Senators captain hit Xhekaj deep in the second period and at the end of that period, the two traded a few punches without dropping their gloves.
THE STÜTZLE PHENOMENON
In hockey, there is also a luck factor. In the 2018 draft, the CH made an unforgivable blunder by choosing Jesperi Kotkaniemi in third place, just before Tkachuk. Two years later, the Sens drafted Tim Stützle third following Alexis Lafrenière (Rangers) and Quinton Byfield (Kings). If there was still any doubt, Stützle showed that he was the best of his vintage during his time in Montreal with two goals and two assists. He has 49 points (22 g, 27 p) in 46 games.
50 POINTS IN 50 GAMES
Author of a goal and an assist, Brady Tkachuk reached the plateau of 51 points (20 goals, 31 assists) in 50e Sens game this season. He became the first player on his team to get 50 points in as many games since Mark Stone in 2018-19.
+
Harvey-Pinard
He is the logical choice with his two goals, five shots, two hits and an playing time of 18 min 49 s Nick Suzuki also had a good game with two assists

Ylönen remains much too discreet The Finn does not have fire in his eyes To use an expression of Martin St-Louis, he did not find a way to jump on the train After the match, the CH sent him back with the Laval Rocket, while as Alex Belzile
