The first snow storm this year, “Farah”, which hit Lebanon in the south, intensified following a long period of no rain, with the early morning hours and during the night hours, at an altitude of 1200 meters and above, and snow covered the peaks of Jal al-Sheikh and the heights of al-Arqoub in the Hasbaya district, and isolated “International” sites for the “UNIFIL” forces on the borders of the occupied Shebaa Farms, and their thickness exceeded 30 cm, and bulldozers for works and municipalities worked, in cooperation with the mechanisms of “UNIFIL”, to open the roads.

Heavy rains and hailstones fell in Marjayoun and its region, accompanied by lightning, thunder and strong winds, which turned some roads into torrential torrents, created water pools and excavations in the roads, and swamps in the Marj Plain, causing damage to crops and vegetables.

At a time when the security forces, civil defense and municipalities warned of the danger of slips on the Marjayoun-Khardali road, and urged drivers to drive slowly, in order to avoid traffic accidents and slips.
