Windows 11 will get third-party widgets with a frame full of them soon. Although most people still prefer to use the operating system without interacting with widgets, the developers believe that they are all the rage these days and will go ahead with this idea. For now, the news is present for participants of the Windows Insider program, which tests features and fixes related to bugs and security.
If you don’t know what widgets are, just search for the word in the Settings app search on your Android or iOS phone (iPhone). It is a drop-down window that is located on the smartphone’s home screen, along with the applications, where objective information and command buttons can be displayed to offer a kind of quick shortcut to access data and perform commands.
Widgets coming to Windows 11
The addition of the “Phone Link” app widget in Windows 11 is a sign that Microsoft is investing in the widget experience. Previously, only native Windows applications, created by Microsoft, supported this information display format and/or command buttons. However, soon we will have third-party widgets such as Messenger and Facebook.

Windows 11: Where can I enable widgets?
The widgets panel can be accessed via the taskbar. There is a small widget icon next to the start menu. By selecting it, you can access the widgets frame, which will open on the left side of the screen by default.
If you are using the 22H2 version of Windows 11, you can download the Windows Web Experience Pack (423.2300.0.0) from the Microsoft Store. With this update, the user will gain the “Expand” button in the top right corner of the widget frame, which, when selected, the widgets will be displayed in the entire desktop. If you participate in the Windows Insider program, you can use third-party widgets.
