There are no Vietnamese clubs

There are 3 clubs from Southeast Asia on the list of IFFHS (World Federation of Football History and Statistics).

IFFHS has just announced the list of the top 500 men’s football clubs in the world in 2022. No Vietnamese team is present in the above list. Meanwhile, Thailand contributed 2 representatives, BG Pathum United and Buriram United. Malaysia contributes 1 club, Johor Darul Ta’Zim.

According to IFFHS rankings, BG Pathum United is ranked 172 in the world and 8 in Asia. Meanwhile, Buriram United ranked 415th in the world and 31st in Asia. Buriram United is the champion of Thai League 1 season 2021/22, while BG Pathum United is crowned in the 2020/21 season.

Johor Darul Ta’Zim is the defending champion of Malaysia’s Super League. They ranked 15th in Asia and 250 in the world.

BG Pathum United and Johor Darul Ta’Zim are in the Top 30 in Asia according to the IFFHS rankings.

CR Flamengo club (Brazil) ranked number one on the list of IFFHS. In 2022, this team won 2 titles Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brazil. The remaining positions in the top 10 of IFFHS are Palmeiras (Brazil), Liverpool (England), Chelsea (England), Man City (England), Real Madrid (Spain), Benfica (Portugal), FC Porto (Portugal), RB Leipzig (Germany) and PSV (Netherlands).

Barcelona is only 20th while MU is in 53rd place.

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors is rated by IFFHS as the number one club in Asia and the Korean team is ranked 42nd in the world.

In addition to announcing the world’s top 500 football teams in 2022, IFFHS also announced the top 80 best leagues in the world. In which, standing at number one is the Brazilian national championship. The remaining positions in the top 10 belong to the leagues of England (2), Spain (3), Germany (4), Italy (5), France (6), Portugal (7). Netherlands (8), Argentina (9) and Paraguay (10).

Meanwhile, the Thai league is ranked 71st, and the Chinese league is 74th. Vietnam’s national championship (V.League) is not on this list.
