Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry confirmed that there is a great agreement between Cairo and Washington On various issues, stressing that the crisis facing Cairo requires intervention from America to lift the pressure, pointing out that Egypt’s stability contributes to achieving Egyptian-American interests.

He added, during a joint press conference with his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken, today, Monday, that the talks touched on the Renaissance Dam, Libya and Sudan.

For his part, Blinken said that the economy is a priority in relations between Egypt and the United States. He added, “Water represents an existential priority for Egypt, and we are working to take into account Cairo’s interests.”

Reduce stress

Regarding the escalation in the West Bank, he made it clear that Washington is working with Cairo to ease tensions between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

Regarding the Libyan issue, he pointed to Egypt’s important role in addressing the situation in Libya and in holding elections.

He also referred to discussing developments in Sudan and forming a new government.

Ukraine war

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, he explained that the war there affects Egypt’s import of grain. He said that the war in Ukraine greatly affected the Egyptian people.

It is noteworthy that the US State Department indicated that Blinken had toured Egypt, Israel and the West Bank between January 29 and 31, “to consult with partners on a number of regional and international priorities, including the Russian operation in Ukraine and Iran, Palestinian-Israeli relations, and affirmation of a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.” .
