OnePlus is getting ready to launch two new foldable smartphones coming soon. The information began to circulate this week and the leaker Mukul Sharma had access to the first details of the devices.
According to Sharma, the names of the foldables will be OnePlus V Fold and OnePlus V Flip, with the former tending to be the more expensive of the two. Furthermore, a registration obtained from the China trademark office shows that the names already belong to the Chinese company.
Internal testing of the two models has already begun and they are in an advanced stage of development. There are people using the devices in China, India and even Europe.
For now, OnePlus does not comment on the matter, but this is not the first time that the company has been “caught” working on folding smartphones. In the past, executive Gary Chen even posted a teaser video that showed a hinge mechanism being tested.
In addition, codes present in the brand’s proprietary interface also make it clear that the company has been testing ways for the software to adapt to the new format of the panels.
However, the basic specs of the new OnePlus V Fold and V Flip have yet to be revealed. Even so, there are those who believe that these devices are just OPPO’s new foldables renamed by OnePlus.
The companies have been sharing projects and OPPO handsets have been ready for global launch for some time now.
