Brilliant news in sustainable shopping land. And certainly if you have planned a trip to the cake city of Belgium soon. The number of sustainable initiatives in Antwerp has increased to such an extent that fashion platform COSH! launched a new sustainable shopping card. In addition to second-hand shops, the new map also lists all other sustainable fashion initiatives in the city.
In 2013 and 2014 I lived in Antwerp for my studies. I remember that my interest in sustainable initiatives took shape there, but that the offer was very limited. In recent years I have become more enthusiastic visit following visit, because I literally see the range growing. COSH! confirms this great news. Their new shopping map takes you along 70 shops, 29 of which are in the heart of Antwerp. You can visit the other 41 stores in Berchem, Mortsel, Wilrijk and Borgerhout. This way you immediately leave the beaten track (read: the Meir) during your next visit to Antwerp.
The shopping card was made with the support of the City of Antwerp and can be found at participating storesthe tourist information at Het Steen and the Central station.
How does the shopping card work?
Each store on the map has a QR code. Do you scan those? Then you will end up on a specific shop page www.cosh.eco, where you discover how sustainable the store is and which brands are sold. The card also contains tips on how to make better choices as a buyer. Because COSH! and I shared missions: paving the way to better shopping choices, for people and planet.
Some addresses revealed
One of my personal favorites is Supergoods in the Kloosterstraat, at number 38. You might already read why I think they are so fantastic in this blog article. Although I am not only enthusiastic regarding the familiar concept stores, but I am also open to making some new discoveries. If we see Niki from COSH! to believe is Mandrake a hidden gem behind the KMSKA in Antwerp South. You will find natural clothing, books and sustainable toys. Sounds inviting, doesn’t it?
There are also many shops in the outskirts and the neighborhoods around Antwerp that are worth a visit: for example, the Scandinavian slow fashion of Abelone Wilhelmsen and circular designs Andrea Boss. At the end of November I will travel from Limburg to this inspiring city. And you? Have you also felt like being enchanted by the sustainable fashion landscape in Antwerp?
