Are Bayern brunching out of the New Year’s low?
Just 19 hours following the disappointing 1-1 draw once morest Frankfurt, the stars of Julian Nagelsmann (35) met for a secret team dinner early on Sunday followingnoon.
BILD caught Thomas Müller (33) and Co. following the public training session on Säbener Straße on the way to a family brunch in the Munich delicatessen “Käfer-Schänke”.
A crisis summit?
No! According to BILD information, the appointment with players, coaches, supervisors and families had long been planned to get in the mood for the second half of the season. That the brunch coincided with Bavaria’s biggest low since last autumn – an unfortunate coincidence.
Because of the sporting negative run of three draws in a row and the unrest within the club regarding the expulsion of Tapalovic and Gucci-Gnabry, the mood on arrival was correspondingly subdued.
Marcel Sabitzer (28), who served as the first star with his friend Katja Kühne at 12.55 p.m., looked just as serious as Honorary President Uli Hoeneß (71), who arrived at the Bayern brunch just a few minutes later, accompanied by his wife Susi.
Defense star Matthijs de Ligt (23) followed alongside his Annekee (in cool, colorful cowboy boots), newcomer Yann Sommer with his family (34) in a chic jacket and Alphonso Davies (22) with his new girlfriend.
By the way, Serge Gnabry (27) came following the fuss regarding his visit to Paris Fashion Week at 1.43 p.m. in a very simple outfit with patent leather shoes, jeans and a black jacket.
Somewhat surprising: Julian Nagelsmann (35) was one of the last to arrive at 2:49 p.m. – almost two hours following the first players arrived – with his friend Lena Wurzenberger, who works in the Munich local editorial office of BILD.
Shortly before the trainer’s arrival, youngster Jamal Musiala (19), who had arrived at 1:18 p.m., had already said goodbye!
Only a little later Davies, Wanner, Goretzka, Gnabry, Choupo-Moting, Sarr and Mané also left the event. So there wasn’t a lot of time together with everyone…
In addition to the doctors and physios, boss Oliver Kahn (53), sports director Hasan Salihamidzic (46) and president Herbert Hainer (68) did not miss the internal celebration.
The most exciting guest, however, was Manuel Neuer (36/broken shin), who, alongside his Anika, appeared publicly at a club appointment for the first time since his serious skiing accident.
Surprising: The five-time world goalkeeper was already putting some weight on his injured right leg when he walked through the side entrance of the restaurant on crutches.
At least a ray of hope in difficult Bayern times…
