With his sensitive everyday observations, F. Scott Fitzgerald filled a reservoir of ideas and thoughts from which he was able to feed his novels regarding the Roaring Twenties. “The moment of beauty. From the notebooks” (Dieterisch’sche Verlagsbuchhandlung, translation: Helmut Moysich) reveals “Fitzgerald’s ability to recognize the fundamentals in seemingly irrelevant things,” says Robert Weichinger.
Both the private and the political find their place in Rafael Chirbe’s collection of notes, which was posthumously translated into German: “From time to time. Diaries 1984 – 2005” (Kunstmann Verlag, translation: Dagmar Ploetz, Carsten Regling). A contribution by Holger Heimann.
